Germany-Cologne: Communications equipment
As a result of the excavation of the medieval synagogue of the Jewish district, Department VII – Arts and Culture – of the City of Cologne is planning a large archaeological zone in the town hall of Cologne. In order to realise the archaeological zone, the data lines (copper and optical fibre) of the city of Cologne running in the plan area must be relocated. The project includes the calibration and repair of the existing cable trunk at the centre of the city, as well as the supply, removal and connection of new data lines. Before relocating the lines, the old lines must be identified and dismantled after installation up to the connection point. Some ducts are to be placed in the distribution cabinets of the adjacent properties (approximately 6 units). The other ducts must be sleeved to the existing ducts. Some of the work to be carried out will take place outside normal working hours and at weekends. The switchover from the old to the new lines must be carried out outside normal working hours and at weekends in close consultation with the Information Processing Office.
