Description

This study includes the following:
— Drawing up the river basin management plans of the water departments of Attica and Eastern Sterea Ellada, containing all the information set out in Article 13 and Annex VII of Directive 2000/60/EC (Article 10 and Annex VII of Presidential Decree 51/2007),
The formulation of a programme of basic and complementary measures, as provided for in Article 11 and Annex VI of Directive 2000/60/EC (Article 12 and Annex VIII of Presidential Decree 51/2007) for the protection and restoration of the water resources of the study area, in order to achieve the environmental objectives laid down in Article 4 of Directive 2000/60/EC and Article 4 of Presidential Decree 51/2007;
— Drawing up a Strategic Environmental Impact Assessment (SEA) to identify, describe and assess the environmental impact of implementing the abovementioned programmes of measures and management plans and exploring alternatives, taking into account the objectives of the management plans,
Information to the public and public consultation of the draft management plans (draft management plans) six months before their completion, in accordance with Article 14 of Directive 2000/60/EC and Article 15 of Presidential Decree 51/2007,
Monitoring and updating the reports on the implementation of Articles 3, 5, 6 and 8 and Annexes I-V to Directive 2000/60/EC in the water districts of the area, which have been submitted to the EU and which include, inter alia, the analysis of anthropogenic pressures and their impact, the formulation of the survey programmes, the economic analysis of water uses, the register of protected areas, the designation of the types of water bodies, etc.,
The definitive identification of heavily modified and artificial water bodies of the study area, as well as the ‘exemptions’ from the achievement of the environmental objectives of Article 4 of Directive 2000/60/EC and Article 4 of Presidential Decree 51/2007,
— Full coverage of EU reporting and other reporting obligations on management plans in accordance with the specifications established by the European Environment Agency,
— Drawing up a plan to deal with water scarcity and droughts for each water district in the study area, based mainly on the principles of preventive planning.
