Description

The clean-up work will be carried out in accordance with the ‘Project documentation for the clean-up operation of Kunovice – Aircraft Industries, a.s. (ENVI-AQUA, s.r.o., April 2011)’, including its ‘Supplementary – settlement of comments on Kunovice – Aircraft Industries, a.s. (ENVI-AQUA, s.r.o., May 2011)’. The concentrations of the customs duties exceed the values of the target parameters of remediation in accordance with the CEI Brno Decision in force. In terms of customs duties, pollution in the A6 area consists of both primary contaminants, i.e. PCEs and TCEs and their disintegration products, i.e. DCE and VC. In other parts of the site and its surroundings, customs duties are virtually only DCEs. During the intensive remediation action, the concentration of duties should fall below the remediation limits. In order to achieve the proposed target parameters for the remediation of the saturated zone, the project proposes the remediation of the groundwater by the remediation method in three sub-parts of Aircraft Industries, a.s. – protection-remediation pumping in the area of the A86 building, clean-up in the area of a customs contamination outbreak around A6 and clean-up in the area of increased customs duty concentrations at the south-western edge of the site. in coordination with the proposed measures in the unsaturated zone, carry out a survey on the basis of the saturated zone to verify the possibility of persistence of residual contamination of chlorinated hydrocarbons in the depression of non-genic subsoil. In the context of the planned remediation of A77 (storage and housing), A17 (wash ramp), A16 (shredder) and A37 (oil storage), protection-remediation will be carried out in their surroundings. The aim of this pumping will be to create sufficient hydraulic depression in the space of each remediated object in order to avoid the possible spread of contamination that can be mobile during demolitions and, in particular, during earth-contaminated ballast. Avoiding the migration of contamination downstream of groundwater flows eliminates the potential threat to the water source in the collection area of Ostrožská Nová Ves.
