Description

This contract will be divided into orders, which will be closed during execution, depending on the needs of the contracting authority. The services that may form part of these orders include: • Advising and assisting the contracting authority in the 2027 safety review, in particular with regard to hydrodynamic, sand dynamic and morphological aspects: optimization of testing methodology, update of hydraulic preconditions, control of correct application of Xbeach and SWASH during the execution of the safety test 2027, quality control and interpretation of the test results,... • Advice on the design and application of numerical and physical models and model trains, in particular dune and beach exit models (e.g. Xbeach) • Carrying out morphological modelling, e.g. by applying Durosta and XBeach • Advising on the monitoring, monitoring and modelling of the coastline and its evolution • Advising and assisting in the preparation of supplementation and re-feeding programmes • Advising and assisting in the carrying out of studies on ‘soft seawalls’ (forebank, beaches and dunes) or on a combination of soft and ‘hard seawalls’ (seawalls, storm walls, quays, etc.) • Advising and assisting in studies on alternative feeding methods and innovative seawall techniques • Advising and assisting in studies that may have an impact on the future soft seawall policy (e.g. coastal foundation study) • Ad hoc assignments on soft seawalls or on projects that may have an impact on the behaviour (erosion, sedimentation) of soft seawalls. This requires the use of the numerical models Durosta, Xbeach and SWASH. • Advising and participating in working groups and study groups that study certain aspects of sea defence safety (safety line, permitted overflow rate, wave loads on sea defence and non-sea defence structures, etc.) • Advising on the implementation of research and measurement programmes and the results of these programmes. • Advising on project notes, technical-scientific texts for permit applications and environmental impact reports.
