Description

The City of Helsinki's Social Services, Health Care and Rescue Department requested offers for trade services in accordance with the published invitation to tender and its appendices. The object of the procurement was the provision of commercial services throughout the Helsinki region. The City of Helsinki's Social Services, Health Care and Rescue Department organises a trade service for customers who are unable to shop or arrange the handling of their trade matters themselves or with the help of their loved ones. The store service includes receiving customer orders, collecting products from a regular grocery store for consumers, and delivering to the customer according to agreed schedules and operating methods. If necessary, the products are placed in a cabinet, refrigerator or freezer at the customer's request. The shopping service is used by customers of the City of Helsinki's home care, customer guidance, 24-hour and communal housing and supported housing. Customers are mainly elderly people with reduced physical function and/or memory loss. They can still manage independently with the help of support services, such as a store service, that are brought home from their own homes. In 2024, the average monthly use of the trading service was around 1250 customers. In total, approximately 63,000 commercial service deliveries were made during the year. Some customers order products regularly on a weekly basis, some less frequently. The service is a home service in accordance with section 19 of the Social Welfare Act (1301/2014), and the service provider must be registered in the national service provider register Soteri. The service is sold to customers free of VAT.
