Description

The contractor or persons employed by him shall act as experts within the meaning of Section 20 AtG. The expert advises the final storage facility monitoring on issues relating to the safety of installations in relation to radiation protection. The main needs are:
— Examination of radiation protection issues in procedures for the issue of mining operational plans;
— the examination of mining issues relating to radiation protection (e.g. weather technology);
— examination of geological, in particular geochemical, hydrogeological and mineralogical issues relating to radiation protection (e.g. long-term safety);
— examination of incident preparedness measures (e.g. underground construction and filling measures).
On a case-by-case basis, the performance includes the examination of documents and data submitted to the disposal facility monitoring. The documents and data must be checked for consistency, traceability and technical accuracy. The results of all tests should be presented in an expert report. The form of the report (audit report, opinion, minutes, etc.) is agreed with the contracting authority.
The Contracting Authority reserves the right to assist the expert on issues requiring clarification on the spot. In particular, in order to accompany inspections, it may be necessary to enter the Asse II mine. A number of trips to the Asse II mine can therefore be expected during the contract period.
