Germany-Nümbrecht: Architectural and related services
Site planner services in accordance with HOAI 2013, Part 3, Building and indoor planning for the conversion and installation of the Nümbrecht school centre for the implementation of a new pedagogical concept. Scope: Service phases 1-9, HOAI (2013) § 34
The Nümbrecht school centre includes a secondary school, a secondary school and two types of school leaving (real school and primary school) with a total of 1500 pupils.
It is located in a complex of several building wings of different construction times, which have been extended and converted several times. The last major construction work was the construction/extension of the Mensa, which nowadays as a community area connects the various parts of the building on the ground floor.
In preparation for the reorganisation of the school centre, the schools and the municipality of Nümbrecht, as school leaders, developed a common pedagogical profile under the idea of ‘Nümbrecht Campus Nümbrecht’, accompanied by a school building advisory team composed of pedagogues and architects. It identified both the specific pedagogical designs of secondary and secondary schools, as well as the common aspects and synergies for the school centre.
The results of this process are summarised in a report. It already describes concrete considerations and orientations on the spatial implementation of the pedagogical approach, such as the overall organisational structure of the two schools, the need for spatial links between different functional areas, the qualities and use of the ‘common centre’ as the centrepiece of the school, the organisation of general teaching areas in clusters, the merging of the scientific fields of the gymnasium into a ‘MINT cluster’, the creation of a joint ‘creative cluster’ linked to the Aula, the common administrative area of both schools, or the relationship and transitions from public to pure school. The aim is to create a common campus which, when creating and promoting synergies between gymnasium and secondary schools, also preserves the identity and spatial representation of each school.
The report also already contains a reflection on the practical implementation of the concept in existing buildings and sets out additional land requirements, which can only be covered by a complementary new building.
The outcome of the process is a binding basis for further planning. The willingness to recognise this and to deal with the different basic principles described in terms of content and planning is a prerequisite for taking over the benefit requested in this procedure.
The concept may be requested from the contracting authority.
The conversion/cultivation takes place when the school is running.
Construction volume: approximately EUR 8000000
Implementation phase: End 2016-2019
