Description

The proposed project concerns all road works for the improvement of the National Road Samos – Karlovasi for the subsection from EXIT "AG. KONSTANTINOU" to "PETALIDES" (K.P. 1+883.505+490.00). The beginning of the study (k.p. 1+883,50) is located at the western boundary of Agios Konstantinos and specifically at the intersection of the coastal road of the Settlement with the existing National Road. The end of the study (k.p. 5+490,00) is before the Petalides Settlement. The road is part of a 3.600m long section of the National Road that connects Samos with Karlovasi. Apart from serving the two largest cities of Samos Island, the above-mentioned National Road also serves coastal settlements that have tourism during the summer months. Therefore, the improvement of a section that belongs to the National Network and has a particularly difficult alignment is necessary for reasons of traffic safety, improvement of the level of service for locals and holidaymakers, as well as additional development of the immediate and wider area of an outlying island. In addition, it is planned to improve the widening of part of the highway before the settlement of Agios Konstantinos. The section being improved has a length of 412.25m. including
