The proposed project concerns all road works for the improvement of the National Road Samos – Karlovasi for the subsection from EXIT "AG. KONSTANTINOU" to "PETALIDES" (k.p. 1+883.505+490.00). The beginning of the study (k.p. 1+883.50) is located at the western limits of Agios Konstantinos and specifically at the intersection of the coastal road of Oikismos with the existing National Road. The end of the study (k.p. 5 + 490.00) is before the Petalides Settlement. The road is part of the National Road that connects Samos with Karlovasi. Apart from serving the two largest cities on the island of Samos, it also serves coastal settlements that have tourism during the summer months. Therefore, the improvement of a section that belongs to the National Network and has a particularly difficult alignment is necessary for reasons of traffic safety, improvement of the level of service for locals and holidaymakers, as well as additional development of the immediate and wider area of a border island. In addition, it is planned to improve the widening of part of the national road before the settlement of Agios Konstantinos.
