Description

The Port of Næstved is facing a historic transformation, where the existing commercial port will be relocated from the city centre to a new location on Ydernæs. The decision to relocate was taken by the Port Board and supported by the City Council of Næstved Municipality, and is based on a comprehensive relocation plan prepared by SWECO Danmark A/S in 2024. The plan documents that the project is both technically and economically feasible and that it can be carried out without municipal co-financing. The relocation will ensure continued port operations and jobs in the area, while freeing up attractive areas for urban development in the central part of Næstved. On this basis, a turnkey consultancy contract is offered, which includes environmental and public sector consultancy including field studies and preparation of a public sector project, which, together with the project proposal prepared by SWECO, will form the basis for Næstved Municipality’s decision on the implementation of the Relocation Plan of 19 August 2024, including a decision on Section 25 permit under the Environmental Assessment Act.
