Description

GSH Troisdorf - Unkel The Federal Ministry of Digital Affairs and Transport (BMDV) and DB have decided to build a high-performance network by 2030. The Troisdorf-Koblenz-Wiesbaden section on the double-track and electrified line 2324 or the ‘Right Rhine line’ is part of the transit corridor from the ARA ports (Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Antwerp) to southern Germany and thus an important part of the European freight transport network. As part of the construction of the high-performance network, the Troisdorf section is to be renewed until Bad Honnef in the West region in the second half of 2026. It is located entirely in North Rhine-Westphalia. In the present IIA, only lot 100 (construction section north) is dealt with. The affected construction phase extends from the northern end of the Troisdorf station at approximately km 78.6 to the southern end of the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Hütte station (KFWH) at km 83,000.
