Description

The Association of Caregivers in Bavaria is a body governed by public law, which was founded in 2017 on the basis of the Caregivers Association Act as an interest representation and self-governing body of professional caregivers in Bavaria. Unlike in the nursing chambers of other federal states, membership in the VdPB is not obligatory and non-contributory for professional carers. As professional caregivers and thus potential members of the VdPB, caregivers and care assistants from all areas of professional care are considered. Due to the voluntary membership, full registration via a member directory is not possible in Bavaria. For this reason, in July 2024, the Bavarian Parliament adopted legal regulations for a professional register for all carers in the Free State of Bavaria. The VdPB is commissioned to implement this legal mandate. The date for the start of the professional register was 1 June 2025.
