United Kingdom-Belfast: Armoured personnel carriers
The contracting Authority requires a total of 30 x Land Rover Defender 110 chassis cabs converted to Armoured Public Order vehicles to replace a number of its current armoured hard skin 4x4 vehicles for public order control situations and security patrols in high risk areas in Northern Ireland. The 30 x Land Rover Defender 110 chassis cabs have a plated weight of 3 035 kg or 3.035 tonne and will need to be modified and approved by a recognised independent testing house to provide a plated weight of 3 900 kg or 3.9 tonne. The converted finished vehicle must have a payload of 700 kg minimum.
Due to time and budgetary constraints, the contract will be divided into 2 lots, with 15 vehicles to be delivered per lot.
Economic Operators may only bid for 1 lot. Two suppliers are required to maximise production and minimise completion/delivery time-scales.
The vehicles must be delivered complete to Northern Ireland, as soon as possible with as many vehicles completed by 31.3.2015 as possible.
It is anticipated that within one week of the Award of Contract, the contractors will be required to take delivery of the 15 chassis each. Therefore the contractors must have adequate secure storage available to them within this time-frame.
