Description

The subject of this call for tenders is a framework agreement on services for the conception, production and post-production of video content for the YouTube channel @geschichteistjetzt (The channel renaming from @undheute? to @geschichteistjetzt is currently in progress.) of the Arolsen Archives as well as for the social media channels Instagram and TikTok. The aim is the continuous development and implementation of target group-oriented video formats for historical education and examination of topics such as Nazi times, discrimination, human rights and social diversity. The services include the complete production chain: Conception and format development, production, post-production and project management. In addition, the contractor is responsible for the technical implementation and editorial development of new and existing formats. The YouTube channel @geschichteistjetzt of the Arolsen Archives (https://www.youtube.com/@geschichteistjetzt ) comprises four currently running formats: The animation format 'Do I not know', the generational talk 'My, Your, No Story', the street surveys ''Sorry?!'' and the true crime video podcast 'Crime Forgetting'. Past and no longer running formats are: The street quiz ‘Deutschland vs Drittes Reich’, the interview format ‘Keine Geschichte’ and the explanatory format ‘Nazi German for Beginners’. The subject of this call for tenders is services for the continuation of the channel, in particular the planning, conception and production of the new videos. It will be necessary for the future contractors to check whether the channel should be conceptually modified or adapted for a target group-oriented continuation in order to make the video offer even more attractive for the target group of 16-25-year-olds. The existing formats can be adapted or replaced by new formats if deemed necessary after analysis of the potential, reach and success of the channel. The videos are also broadcast on our other social media channels in short formats tailored to the channels and need to be optimized for this. It is important to think about the integration of YouTube with Instagram and TikTok already in the conception. The videos are an important building block in the educational work of the Arolsen Archives against anti-Semitism, racism and discrimination and for the strengthening of a diverse society. The social media channels repeatedly draw Gen Z's attention to participatory and contemporary forms of memory work and sensitize young people and young adults who have little contact and often too little knowledge about the time of National Socialism. They accompany the educational work of arolsen school (https://school.arolsen-archives.org/), which is also designed with a high standard of sustainable use and a continuous expansion of digital offerings. The interconnection of educational offers and social media offers is part of the task.
