Description

NRW.URBAN GmbH & Co. KG (customer) intends to build a new building including technical equipment and associated outdoor facilities for the accommodation of the research production battery cell (FFB) at the Münster site. The client acts in trust for the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, which finances the construction project with state funds. As operator of the FFB and user of the new building, the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft zur Förderung der angewandten Forschung e.V. (FhG) is planned. The research production battery cell FFB is intended to accelerate the innovation process for the development of new cell production concepts and their implementation in industrial production. It thus complements the BMBF umbrella concept "Research Factory Battery" with the Mo?dul "Battery Cell Production" and the excellent research scene in Germany with another crucial component in the field of large-scale battery cell production. The core offer of the FFB is the evaluation of the scalability of innovative, industry-relevant cell manufacturing concepts, which includes and further develops the existing lithium-ion technology. In the future, the FFB will also be able to qualify future and post-lithium-ion cell concepts (including new materials, manufacturing processes, process technologies and production plants) and advance them to the production of zero or small series. The training of specialist personnel along the entire educational chain and the intended integration effect of the research scene should generally lead to an increase in the attractiveness of Germany as a location for battery cell production. The building for 2. Construction is to be carried out on plot 257 in Münster Amelsbüren on the Federal Highway BAB 1 and the Dortmund-Ems Canal. The provision of planning services (LPH 1-9 gladly. HOAI) is carried out by a general planner. The planned construction is organized orthogonally, in the floor plan a striking trapezoidal shape is created. The building is about 150 m wide in east-west direction, about 175 m long on the west side and about 100 m long on the east side. It can be assumed that the gross floor area is around 36,000 m2 GFA-R (of which the construction floor area is around 2600 m2 KGF). The FFB consists of two main structural parts: the production in the west and the office with ancillary areas, the workshop and the laboratories in the east.
