D-Berlin: public relations services
Provision of general contractor services for the project “Science Vessel 2012 and 2013”.
In the 2012 and 2013 scientific years, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research plans to deploy an exhibition vessel or an exhibition space suitable for inland waterway transport and tour in Germany. Up to 40 cities in Germany will be approached, optionally other cities in Austria and the wider European Union. The BMBF is considering extending the use of the exhibition space and commissioning the joint venture for two more scientific years.
Scientific vessel/exhibition architecture:
Since 2002, the exhibition vessel MS Jenny has accompanied the scientific years under the name ‘MS Wissenschaft’, which runs from mid-May to the end of September, and has so far reached around 35 cities in Germany and Austria, and 30000 people visit ‘MS Science’ every year. The major research organisations in Germany are the main research organisations in Germany. They bring together activities, expertise and experiments.
For the 2012 academic year, the BMBF plans to send a swimming exhibition format again on tour. The aim is to make the format more innovative and to reposition structurally, content and design.
Basic technical conditions Exhibition room:
The exhibition space shall be sliding and the height of the bridge (4.20 metres) shall be taken into account. The mere exhibition area shall be at least 600 square metres, in addition to which additional rooms and spaces for the operation of a café, sanitary facilities and accommodation facilities for the crew and operators of the exhibition must be made available in the exhibition room and, where appropriate, transport facilities must be provided.
Themes of the exhibitions:
The exhibitions will be organised for 2012 and 2013 by the scientific year in question. In the 2012 Science Year, the BMBF wants to focus on sustainability as a key topic for the future and to raise the public’s awareness of this topic. The working title for the 2012 Science Year is “The Future Project Erde”.
General contractor services:
In order to avoid interface problems between the different trades, a general contractor is sought to provide the services. The main responsibility of the General Contractor is to plan and manage the following service packages:
— the design, implementation and operation of a scientific exhibition in the 2012 and 2013 scientific years for children and young people aged 12 and over on board an exhibition space suitable for inland navigation,
