Germany-Freiburg im Breisgau: Engineering design services
Technical engineering services of civil engineering structures, structural design and technical equipment (strong current installations) of a conveyor belt and ship loading facility for gravel handling and transport at two locations on the Upper Rhine. In addition, an emission report must be drawn up as an overall assessment of the expected dust and noise pollution under German and French law. (The emission report of the conveyor belt installation is drawn up by the mechanical engineering contractor and must be included by the contractor in the overall report)
At the Ottmarsheim site, the gravel is delivered by dumper and at the Fessenheim site by dumper or conveyor belt and is to a large extent to be loaded on inland waterway vessels.
— Location of the ‘Ottmarsheim’ site: on the Rhine, for example at the Ottmarsheim lock in the area of Rhine km 194.489.
— Location of the Fessenheim site: on the Rhine, for example at the level of the Fessenheim lock in the area of Rhine km 211.784.
— The sites consist essentially of: Unloading point for dumpers, gravel stores, lorry loading, conveyor to berth, boat berth with loading facility and all associated installations. These are services from the disciplines: Technical designer civil engineering and structural design.
— The logistic area and part of the conveyor belt bridge are located on German territory, the boat berth and part of the conveyor bridge are located on French territory.
— Duration of operation of the two sites: expected 10 years.
— Quantity of gravel handling: estimated approximately 10 000 tonnes per working day. The gravel is delivered by dumper or conveyor belt and is to a large extent to be loaded on ships.
The Wasser und Schifffahrtsamt Freiburg intends to award the following services under this invitation to tender:
— Technical planning of a support structure for a conveyor belt installation (bridge over the Altrhein, the Rhine Island and part of the Rhine side canal (F)) and engineering planning of a ship loading facility in the Rhine side canal. In addition, the gravel release must be planned onto the space band which transports the gravel from the logistic area to the conveyor belt to the end point to the ship’s loading system, as well as the load-bearing structure of the space band on the logistic area. In each case, with associated structural design. Furthermore, the planner must plan the service area where, according to current knowledge, the entire construction site infrastructure is located. The technical equipment of the two sites with high-voltage installations must also be planned.
— Draw up a hydraulic report to assess the influence of the construction work during construction and operation on the water level of the Altrhein and proof of flood safety under German and French law.
— Issue an emission report (noise and dust) in order to assess the effects during the construction and operation of the installation as a whole.
The overall duration of the performance period is 2015.
