Field knives/bajonets and adapters for GV M25
The Ministry of Defence's Material and Procurement Agency (hereinafter "FMI") needs to implement a purchase of new field knives/bajonets including adapters for the GV M25. The acquisition relates to strengthening and safeguarding Denmark's defence capabilities. The acquisition concerns a purchase of approximately 48,000 field knives/bajonettes and approximately 9,000 adapters for the GV M25, which is expected to be delivered during 2026-2027. The value of the acquisition is estimated to be approximately DKK 49.4 million. The acquisition is limited to what has been specifically deemed necessary and will be contractually anchored in a contract that ensures this in time, i.e. the contract will end as soon as FMI's above needs are met. The acquisition follows from NATO's force targets for Denmark as well as for meeting needs in relation to education and training, just as the first delivery according to the delivery plan must cover the needs from the military service program as well as the TBDE program, which already from this year will use field knives/bajonets. The acquisition is considered to be covered by the Defence and Security Directive, as the equipment is assessed to be covered by ML1 of the EU Common Military List (as an accessory designed specifically for an automatic weapon below 12,7 mm), as the equipment has specific characteristics that make it used with and as military equipment, including the ability to break barbed wire, mount a gun for use as a bayonet, and that, in order to be used as a bayonet, the equipment is specially designed and has technical details that differ from civilian products.
