Description

This consultation concerns the carrying out of two preventive archaeological excavations prior to the requalification of the Route de l'Almanarre (RD 559) in Hyères. In accordance with the Prefectural Amending Decree No 2023-617 of 6 December 2023 on the prescription of archaeological diagnosis, the land impacted by the planned requalification work on the Almanarre to Hyères road was the subject of an archaeological diagnosis carried out by the archaeological service of the Var department from 19 February 2024 to 12 March 2024. This archaeological diagnosis was the subject of a report dated May 2024 and attached to the documents of this contract. The conclusions of this diagnosis can be found on pages 73 to 76 of this report. In the light of these conclusions, the DRAC issued, on 22 July 2024, two prefectural decrees prescribing preventive archaeological excavations, and defined the scientific specifications according to which the excavations will be carried out, as well as the rights of way of excavations according to the indications given in Article 1.1.2 of the CCTP.
