Enlargement EOK II
Semmelweis University, Theoretical Education Center (EOK) II. The design site is located in the 9th district of Budapest, in a block bordered by Thaly Kálmán - Tűzoltó - Viola - Balázs Béla utca. The three formerly independent plots are occupied by residential buildings. After the land consolidation, a gross 24 500 m2 building with 3 basement floors + ground floor + 4 and 5 floors will be placed on 1 property, after the demolition of the existing buildings. In the smaller wing of the L-shaped plot two illuminating inner courtyards will be created, and in the wider wing an inner atrium courtyard will be created. The facade walls of the existing buildings under local protection in Viola and Tűzoltó Street will be preserved, behind which new reinforced concrete slabs and wall structures will be built in the geometry of the original structures. Out of the 4-storey-high L-shaped mass behind the original building-tracts, only the mass of 5-storey wings on both sides of the atrium courtyard and the open engineering court at the top of the narrower wing of the L-shaped courtyard stand out. The cars necessary for the operation of the building are located in a 3-storey underground garage, where there are a total of 118 parking spaces. The access to the underground garage is planned from the Tűzoltó Street wing. The main pedestrian entrance of the building is located on the side of Thaly Kálmán Street, while the economic entrance is located in the Tűzoltó Street wing. In addition, there will be a staff entrance in the Viola Street building. On the ground floor, next to the lobby, there is a restaurant for 200 people with a kitchen for 600 servings and other necessary service rooms. The loading of goods is possible from the P1 parking level via a specially designed economic elevator. In the Viola street part of the building, on the ground floor and on the basement floors, there is a group of rooms arranged one above the other to ensure the energy supply of the building. At the intersection of the legs of the L floor plan form, there is a lift block with 3 lifts, which basically ensures the connection between the levels. 1-1 larger lifts on the two edges of the Viola Street wing are suitable for freight transport. Further connection between the levels is ensured by the representative single-armed steel stairs at the end of the atrium court at the front of the hall and by 3 escape staircases in the corners. In the Tűzoltó street wing, next to the aforementioned kitchen elevator, there is also a passenger elevator and an escape staircase. Under the atrium court, on the -1st floor, the 1000-person high-level performer demanding high ceilings and without internal support was placed. Together with the lowering and the ground-floor height of 4.50 m, it is possible to create a larger space with double ceiling height. At both ends of the flat-floored room, which can be divided into four parts by mobile walls, a pull-out-and-slide mobile viewing system will be installed, which will provide the opportunity to hold other events in addition to university lectures. The illuminating lanes around the hall ensure the spatial connection to the ground floor lobby, while the representative connection is provided by 2 single-arm staircases. In the atrium on the 1st floor there are 4 separate study spaces for 15-20 people, separated by plant cassettes, which are highlighted 45 cm high in relation to the floor of the courtyard. The library is located on the 1st floor of the Tűzoltó Street wing. The library space, which requires a continuous larger space, has been added to the new mass of the building, while the smaller study spaces are located on the 1st and 2nd floors of the existing, reconstructed wing. Facades with curtain walls face the illuminating courtyards in order to get as much natural light as possible. In order to resolve the sharp shifts between the solid and glazed façade sections on all sides of the building, an alternating-density ceramic lamella shade is placed as a second shell, which is completely thickened on the solid façades. The lightweight walls of the open engine yard on the top of the Tűzoltó Street wing are covered with striped aluminium plates. land area: 3 631.0 m2 - built-up area: 3 629,41 m2 – 99,95 % - built-up area below ground level: 3 496,50 m2 – 96,30 % - gross floor area: 18 603.90 m2 - level area indicator: 5.12 - parking gross floor area: 5 754.60 m2 - parking floor area indicator: 1,58 - extensive green roof (8-20 cm thickness – 15%): 374.00 m2 x 0.15=56.10 m2 - semi-intensive green roof (21-40 cm thickness - 25%): 478,00 m2 x 0,25=119,50 m2 - planned green area (within plot) total: 175.60 m2 - green area indicator: 4,84 % underground car park floor area: Net floor area of 5.160m2 building: net 16.061 m2 green roof construction total net 852 m2 curtain wall construction total: net 2.327 m2 The deadline for performance of the contract is 27 months from the handover of the work area.
