Description

Rumilly is a municipality located relatively close to the agglomerations of Lyon (130 km), Grenoble (100 km) and Geneva (62 km).
The total population was 15 646 in 2019 within a catchment area of approximately 45000 inhabitants between the two agglomerations of Annecy in the north and Aix-les-Bains/Chambéry in the south at a distance of 20 and 35 km respectively. Due to its demographic importance and economic dynamism, Rumilly is today Albania’s main urban hub. In addition, the municipality of Rumilly was selected by the State among 222 cities as part of the Action Cœur de Ville programme. Following the signing of a multiannual framework agreement with the programme and the various national and local partners of the programme, the Municipality of Rumilly wished to speed up the revitalisation of its city centre, in particular the island rue Montpelaz/Rue des Tours.
