Description

The instrument will particularly be dedicated to the analysis of fluorescent proteins in Eukaryotic cells, but will also be used for conventional flow cytometry based analysis in research and teaching.
The instrument must:
— Have a 488 nm laser and a 561 or 552 nm laser (or equal),
— Have sensitivity (with CV less than 5 %) of FITC = 200 MESF, PE = 100 MESF, APC = 150 MESF,
— Have the possibility to automatically load samples from tubes or multi-well plates,
— Have a least eight (8) detectors with optical filters in addition to detectors for FCS and SSC,
— Have a dynamic range of detection of 18 bit or more,
— Have software for automated calibration, cleaning cycles and shut down,
— Have user-friendly software for data analysis and presentation included,
— Have a guarantee time of at least one year from acquisition.
The instrument should:
— Be equipped with a third laser (405 nm or 638 nm or equal),
— Be equipped with a device that keeps the samples in the tubes or wells cool while the automated analysis is performed,
— Be able to analyze small sample volumes,
— Be able to analyze fast (up to 104 events/sec),
— Come with multi-user software for simple analysis and data presentation for teaching purposes (minimum 10 simultaneous users),
— Be possible to diagnose on-line for technical support,
— Be small in size and easy to place.
The offer should include:
— An on-site training upon delivery or shortly after,
— A guarantee that spare parts will be available for seven years after acquisition,
— The prize for a one-time maintenance per year and a guaranteed “down-time” of less than two weeks,
— Buffers sufficient for 6 months of operation for running, washing, storage and decontamination,
— Beads for calibration sufficient for six months of use,
— Provide contact information to three independent academic user groups of the instrument (or equal) that can be contacted for a reference.
