The new TV building of Estonian Public Broadcasting has been designed taking into account that the cooling systems of the building use energy-efficient and carbon-neutral district cooling. The district cooling service makes the cooling system of the building easier and cheaper and allows for financial savings in the further maintenance of the system. Also, when connecting to a district cooling system, it is no longer necessary to use environmentally harmful gases. The technical solution of the district cooling service in the Tallinn city centre area is currently offered only by Utilitas Tallinn AS, which designs and builds the district cooling pipeline up to the connection point of the new TV building by 31 December 2025 at the latest, and therefore it is not possible to purchase such a service from other persons in the course of an open procurement procedure.
