In the course of the planned inter-municipal cooperation with the association municipalities of Puderbach and Hachenburg, a significant increase in water demand in the area of the Amteroth pumping station is to be expected in the future. In order to ensure a sustainable, efficient and reliable drinking water supply within the future network structure, extensive infrastructural adjustments are required. An essential part of the project is the expansion of the existing pipeline between the Seelbach pumping station and the Hümmerich high tank (measure 3a). The existing line in DN 200 (GGG) is not sufficiently dimensioned hydraulically for the flow rates required in the future. In addition, due to its age, the existing management has an increased need for renewal, so that a refurbishment or replacement would be necessary in the medium term, regardless of the capacity expansion. Therefore, the new construction of a 2.3 to 2.5 km long line in DN 300 (GGG) is planned. This measure significantly improves hydraulic performance and at the same time increases the long-term operational reliability of the supply infrastructure. In addition, in order to ensure the future water supply, the extension of the existing inlet line between the Michelbach direct transfer and the Amteroth pumping station (measure 4a) is planned. The existing line in DN 150 (GGG) is hydraulically undersized and not sufficiently designed for the future required flow rates. In addition, there is a topographical high point immediately in front of the Amteroth pumping station, which negatively affects the hydraulic conditions. In order to optimise the overall system, the new construction of an inlet line in DN 300 (GGG) is therefore planned. With the implementation of this measure, the hydraulic performance of the supply system is sustainably improved and the critical high point is effectively mitigated. Overall, the planned measures are intended to ensure a sustainable, high-performance and fail-safe drinking water supply in the long term within the framework of inter-municipal cooperation.
