The Municipality of Rethymnon intends to commission the provision of services for the disposal and landfill of its waste for a period of two years.
The waste will come from all municipal units in the municipality, i.e. Rethymno, Arkadiou, Niki.Fokas and Lappaia.
The main objective of the project is the provision of services by the contractor, which will have the premises, equipment, necessary staff, know-how, operating permit and approval of environmental conditions in the landfill sector.
Admission to the competition is open to those who:
(A) Manage organised units carrying out landfilling of waste.
(B) make available permitted waste treatment and landfill facilities under approved environmental conditions;
(C) have sufficient equipment to provide the services requested.
(D) They have their premises up to 50 km from the headquarters of the Dialysis Directorate of the Municipality of Rethymno, located at the Missirio Rethymno Hub.
The duration of the project will be 24 months from the date of signature of the contract.
The budget of the delegation shall be: EUR 1 400 000. The funding comes from the resources of D. Rethymnon. Corresponding appropriations have been provided for in the Municipality’s 2014 budget. The existing approved appropriation for 2014 amounts to EUR 700 000 including VAT and has been entered in KA20.6142.001 of the budget from resources of the Municipality.
The remaining amount will be made available from the 2015 budget.
This study, drawn up in accordance with the provisions of Presidential Decree 28/80, provides for an open international competition for the execution of the work ‘Deposition and landfill of waste in the Municipality of Rethymnon’. The employment contract will be awarded following an open international tender with sealed tenders and the award criterion being the lowest tender, together with an invoice, in accordance with the provisions in force:

The guarantee for participation in the tendering procedure shall be set at 2 % of the budget of the study, of recognised credit institutions or other legal persons legally operating in the Member States of the European Union, the EEA, in countries that have signed and ratified the Agreement on Public Procurement of the World Trade Organisation (POE) and in third countries which have concluded European agreements with the EU and which have this right in accordance with the legislation of those States, or in Greece with an equivalent promissory note from the Deposits and Loans Fund or a letter of guarantee of a recognised bank in accordance with the formula applicable to the State and local authorities.
