Germany-Weinheim: Architectural services for buildings
The subject of the competition is the construction and open-air design for the construction of a new school centre in conjunction with an existing cultural centre, as well as the design of a 2-field sports hall in the western city of Weinheim.
In total, a building complex of approx. 3 220 m² HNF is to be planned and a two-field sports hall with approx. 1 000 m². The outdoor areas to be designed are approx. 7 000 m² and the size of the plot is approximately 20 000 m².
This is due to the merger of Albert Schweitzer’s primary school with the Johann Sebastian-Bach school in a new location. As part of inclusion, it is necessary to achieve both inclusive teaching and inter-collegial design of teaching approaches when merging the two types of school. The spatial flexibilities created by the construction of a new primary school in close connection with a special school for the concept of inclusive teaching are to be exploited and specified accordingly in the drafts.
The Rolf-Engelbrecht House (assembly site, event house) is located on the plot to be processed. It will be integrated thematically and functionally into the school complex.
