Description

The Social Services, Health Care and Rescue Division of the City of Helsinki requests tenders for the transport service for deceased persons in accordance with this invitation to tender and its appendices. The object of the procurement is the provision of transport services for the deceased, which are the responsibility of the hospital, rehabilitation and care services of the City of Helsinki's social, health and rescue services. Transport services for deceased persons are provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in the City of Helsinki. The deceased are transported from various locations, such as private homes, nursing homes and hospitals, to the deceased's storage facilities within Helsinki. Transport is carried out, inter alia, for the purpose of establishing death in the deceased’s premises of hospitals, for the purpose of medical autopsy in the institution of pathology, and for the purpose of transferring the deceased within hospitals or care institutions. If necessary, transport is also carried out between refrigerated storage facilities, for example due to congestion situations. In exceptional cases, transport may also be necessary to other destinations in the Helsinki area. The collection of the deceased must take place within three (3) hours of the Customer's contact.
