Description

The site of the University Hospital Bonn (UKB) extends on the Venusberg over a total area of about 43 hectares. In the south of the campus, the new buildings NPP and DZNE, the existing buildings of neurosurgery and epileptology as well as the Life&Brain and the building 75 (laboratory house including animal husbandry) characterise the neurocentric focus. Together with the immunological focus, the neuroscientific focus has developed into a formative focus of the University of Bonn. In particular, together with the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases e.V. in the Helmholtz Association (DZNE), as well as the neuroscientific orientation of the research center caesar in the Max Planck Society, the neuroscientific focus is on the development to a location of international importance. The current structural structure of the University Hospital Bonn must be restructured in terms of operational organisation. In particular, the division into several, sometimes distant locations and the pavilion structure on the Venusberg raise the following problems, among others: inefficient double provision of necessary infrastructure, long distances and high transport volumes as well as inefficient micro-units due to the prescribed building structure. Due to this structure, it is not possible to present or adapt processes more efficiently. Therefore, a viable concept in the form of a master plan was developed in order to make the University Hospital Bonn competitive and sustainable. The master plan is updated annually and adapted to new findings. The implementation of the NPP project (Neurology, Psychiatry and Palliative Medicine) thus represents a significant milestone in achieving the centralization of clinic operations on the Venusberg campus as envisaged in the master plan. Essential functions of health care (bed stations, ambulances, etc.) from the existing neurology building (building 082) will now be accommodated in the above-mentioned new NPP building, freeing up large areas in the existing building. The subsequent use of these areas, which are created after a general renovation as well as various conversions, is the content of the planning service to be assigned here. In contrast to the structural and scientific development of the neuroscientific focus, the spatial situation has not developed congruently in the scientific-theoretical field. In the new NPP building, only areas for patient-oriented research are available. However, since there is also an urgent need for space for scientific research, the planning of the reuse of building 082 should largely be provided for laboratory space. General description of the requirement for the design contract for the conversion services in the building complex of buildings 81 and 82: The building complex Neurozentrum emerged from a competition at the end of the 1950s. The so-called Nerve Clinic (today Neurology, building 82) was built as the first phase of the competition result in 1965. Neurosurgery (Building 81) was realized in this competition as the second construction phase in 1971, so that the former premises in the Wilhelmstraße building (urban area) could be vacated. The building structure of both buildings means that numerous rooms are internal and therefore not exposed to daylight (restricted working conditions). There are direct structural connections between the two buildings on the floors EG and 1.UG. In the adjoining area of neurology to neurosurgery is the only lecture hall (190 places) in the complex, which extends from the ground floor to the 1st floor. It has its own entrance and can also be reached in-house. In the course of strengthening research, sub-areas in the basement of the Neuro-/Nervenzentrum (building 82) were expanded into laboratories. In the course of the "Anbau NPP" project, areas were affected by this. Here, numerous laboratory rooms are not usable in the previous sense, be it that the rooms have lost their daylight reference or had to be upgraded as a replacement surface. In the course of the project "Re-use Neurocenter", mainly areas of buildings 81 (Neurosurgery) and 82 (Psychiatry/Neurology) are considered. In the latter, in particular, larger areas will be cleared with the completion of the NPP, which will allow a structural reorganization as well as the coverage of acute land requirements. The aim is to meet the proven need for (research) areas under the premise of merging the partially scattered areas and rebuilding as few areas as possible. As part of an open procedure, the scaffolding construction trade is to be commissioned first. Text automatically translated in your browsing language Automatically translated
