Bielefeld University, Main University Building, 3. Construction phase - partial demolition and new construction / renovation and modernisation incl. planning - construction expansion. Bielefeld University was built in the years 1972 - 1976 and presents itself as a 410m long and 230m wide building structure with up to 11 full floors from level 0 (hall level) and two further basements. The entire complex comprises approximately 314,000 m2 of GFA and is classified as a high-rise building in accordance with LBO NRW. All components are at the end of their normal service life. Pollutant findings, functional and structural defects as well as the non-contemporary energy building standard require a comprehensive modernization of the main university building (UHG for short). The current planning envisages the refurbishment and modernisation of the UHG in six construction phases (BA for short). Project 3. BA is to be implemented on the basis of a multi-party contract model (MPV) with integrated project management (IPA). The multi-party contract is designed to ensure that the contracting parties pursue project success as a common goal on the basis of common project principles and in close partnership.
