Upphandlingen av riksfärdtjänst omfattar en helhetslösning av riksfärdtjänstresor mellan kommuner för personer som beviljats tillstånd att resa med riksfärdtjänst enligt lag om riksfärdtjänst, 1997:735. Resorna görs inom Sverige, från en kommun till en annan kommun, och sker normalt med allmänna kommunikationsmedel exempelvis flyg, tåg, buss eller taxi/specialfordon/liggande transporter.
