On 1 January 2023, the Second National Assessment Round of Primary Barriers to Flood Opportunities (LBO-2) was launched, lasting until 31 December 2034. During this 12-year period, HHNK must assess all its primary barriers in accordance with the Environmental Regulations. HHNK planned the assessment of sections 13-8 (Schardam – Edam) and 13-9 (Edam – Schellingwoude) respectively for 2026 (13-8) and 2026 with a run-off to 2027 (13-9).
