Description

Die Landeshauptstadt Kiel als Vorhabenträgerin des laufenden Stadtbahn-Projektes strebt die priorisierte Planung und Umsetzung der Kieler Stadtbahn und des weiteren ÖPNV-Angebotes an. Die Stabsstelle Mobilität führt die Funktion der Projektleitung aus, der Eigenbetrieb Beteiligungen führt die Funktion des ÖPNV Aufgabenträgers aus. In Kiel wird die Planung für den Bau einer neuen Stadtbahn nach BOStrab (Tram) vorangetrieben, um übergeordnete Zielstellungen im Bereich Verkehr und Klimaschutz zu erreichen. Das derzeitige Busangebot reicht demnach nicht aus, und bietet nicht das erforderliche Ausbaupotenzial, um die Zielstellungen des ÖPNV zu erfüllen. Dennoch ist und bleibt das Busangebot wesentlicher Bestandteil des zukünftigen städtischen ÖPNV Angebotes.
