Article 2(1) of Law 7/2002 of 3 May 2002 on the establishment of the Instituto Tecnológico Agrario de Castilla y León (Agrarian Technological Institute of Castile and Leon) states that: ‘The Institute shall be responsible for the Autonomous Community’s own objectives of boosting the activity of the agricultural sector and its processing industries, by promoting technological development and boosting initiatives that involve new production guidelines or adaptation to the market and its quality and competitiveness requirements.’ Article 2(2) of Law No 7/2002 lays down the powers which fall to it in particular, among which point (f) of that provision provides: ‘Promotion of agri-food products from Castile-Leon without prejudice to the competences that may be exercised in this same area by the competent Ministry of Agriculture and Agri-Food’. To meet these objectives, the Institute considers it necessary to participate in different contests and fairgrounds. In this context, the Institute plans to participate in a series of consolidated food fairs and events, in order to support the agri-food industries so that they can penetrate certain national and international marketing circuits, to which they alone would not have access. By Resolution of June 30, 2025, of the Director General of the Agrarian Technological Institute of Castilla y León, the program of agri-food fairs and contests for the year 2026 is approved, to which the Agrarian Technological Institute of Castilla y León plans to attend with an institutional stand in which co-exhibitors can participate. Among the contests included in this resolution is the BWW (Barcelona Wine Week) but it is not the subject of the contract because the fair organization of BWW itself obliges to contract with them the service of design, construction, assembly, disassembly, transport, storage and maintenance of the stands uniform for all exhibitors.
