Netherlands-Groningen: Sludge treatment services
As part of the innovation project ‘Gruisontwatering’, Waterschap Noorderzijlvest intends to sell the drained municipal sewage sludge from itself and that of Waterschap Hunze and Aas from 2018, either as biogenic or hybrid fuel, to replace fossil fuels. To this end, the drained sludge may have to undergo a drying step first. In order to consult the market on cost-effective and environmentally sound drying facilities near the sludge drainage plant (SOI) in Garmerwolde, both the aforementioned water boards intend to organise a market consultation. This market consultation may then follow the invitation to tender for a drying service if and in so far as the two water boards do not carry out such a supply on site. Operators who may have a sludge drying facility close to the SOI in Garmerwolde in 2018 can apply until 15.12.2016.
