Description

In 2021, the city of Leuven, together with six neighbouring municipalities (Bierbeek, Holsbeek, Lubbeek, Rotselaar, Haacht, Oud-Heverlee) launched ‘we.leveren’, a digital delivery or distribution platform for parcel shipments from local traders on the territory of Leuven and neighbouring municipalities. The intention is to grow, both in breadth, this is in geographical scope (at least Mechelen and Diest are added) and in depth, this is in terms of market penetration. The purpose of this public contract is to appoint a partner who, on the one hand, provides support services in preparation for the logistics execution and, on the other hand, assumes the operational execution of the shipments generated by the distribution platform we supply. The geographical area of Leuven is currently extended to include the neighbouring municipalities of Haacht, Rotselaar, Holsbeek, Lubbeek, Bierbeek and Oud-Heverlee. It is possible that this zone will be further expanded with the neighboring municipalities Herent and Bertem during the term of the agreement. The municipalities of Mechelen and Diest (without neighbouring municipalities) also belong to the geographical area that we.leveren will serve. Mechelen has not yet started in practice, this is planned in the course of 2025.
