Description

Negotiated project management contract for the refurbishment and ‘Repaysagement’ of the Abbey site.
The municipality of Saint Amand les Eaux has embarked on an in-depth reflection of its entire city heart with the aim of:
give her a new image, a new identity,
— increase its attractiveness and revitalise its city centre trade,
make it more attractive, modern and practical for its inhabitants, visitors and users,
— create a link between the various places through its layout (furniture, materials, colours, light, etc.) and its museum path,
— facilitate accessibility for all and smooth travel, in particular soft modes and public transport,
— reorganise parking.
After a competition for ideas and extensive consultation with the population and all stakeholders in the municipality, a comprehensive sketch of the town’s heart (from Scarpe to the northern boundaries of the city centre) was drawn up as the reference plan for future development studies.
Central perimeter: approximately 4 hectares comprising the city heart around the Abbatial Tower and its immediate surroundings: Grand Place, adjacent public garden and all relevant monuments and equipment.
