Description

In order to comply with the water quality requirements of the Water Framework Directive (WFD), measures need to be implemented to achieve riparian vegetation and nature-friendly banks. The development of the bank of vegetation also achieves an improvement in the habitat for macrofauna and fish, allowing these groups to develop and maintain better and with more species.
The construction of the NVOs also curbs the calving of the Pekland, an island in the Rottemeren, and parts of the western bank of the Rotte.
