Description

The data center of Saarland University is currently located in rooms of the basement of building E1 1 on the campus of Saarland University in Saarbrücken. The existing technical infrastructures have reached the end of their technical life. Due to the ever-increasing demand for capacities in availability and computing power in research and teaching, spatial resources have also been exhausted. For these reasons, the Saarland University is planning to build a new data center in the rooms of the basement of the CISPA 01/BGS 1 building. The task of the planning is the production of the data center of the Saarland University in the existing spatial structure of the building. This also includes the necessary planning services for the refurbishment of the technical building equipment required for the function of a data center for administrative and scientific computing in the existing building as well as the planning services for the connection of technical building equipment of the data center rooms to the existing technical building equipment structures of the existing building. On the basis of this invitation to tender, a general planner will be commissioned for the project planning and the necessary specialist planning of the technical building equipment, as well as some special services required in the special discipline of data center planning. The general planning services are to be provided as property planning services in accordance with § 34 HOAI for buildings and interiors together with the services for the specialist planning of technical equipment in buildings in accordance with § 53 HOAI. With regard to the timetable, it can be assumed that planning must begin immediately after commissioning. From September 2026, the data center is to be put into operation.
