Description

The soil before and behind the East Shelter is protected from erosion for 600-700 metres on both sides by soil protection. On both sides of the East Shelter, excavation ponds are formed behind the edges of the existing soil protection. These were provided for in the design of the Oosterscheldekering. These excavation silage have developed on both sides of the Eastern Shelter. In order to ensure that soil protection can continue to fulfil its current function adequately, it should be avoided that it can saturate, erode, rinse, slip or become damaged. It is therefore necessary to carry out shrubs in situ.
