Der Sammlungsbau wird im Rahmen der Sanierung brandschutztechnisch ertüchtigt, die Infrastruktur sowie die technische Gebäudeausrüstung saniert bzw. weitgehend erneuert. Die Ausstellungen werden inhaltlich, medial und gestalterisch neu gestaltet oder aktualisiert und entsprechend den neu entwickelten Ausstellungsclustern im Sammlungsbau angeordnet.
