Description

As part of the general renovation, extensive infrastructure measures are planned on route 2630 between Hürth-Kalscheuren and Remagen. The implementation takes place mainly during a five-month total closure from 4 February to 7 July 2028. In addition, a 10-week nightly and weekend-long one-sided blocking break (ESP) from 31 July to 15 October 2027 is planned in advance. Preparatory measures are to be carried out during this period, in particular foundation work for the overhead contact line systems, underground cable construction and ordnance prospecting. As part of the project, around 56 kilometres of track will be renewed and a total of 114 new switches will be built or renewed. In addition, the superstructure of a bridge, the filling of air protection rooms, the renewal of a retaining wall and the new construction of a total of seven noise protection walls of a total length of 5.3 km will be carried out. It is also planned to renew four interlockings, including about 421 LST interlocking units. In addition, a new operating site (BSO) is planned. In addition, LST components and/or the level crossing surface are renewed at 13 level crossings. As part of the adaptation measures to the switches, around 25 kilometres of overhead contact line - including the associated supporting structures - will be renewed according to the current planning status. In addition, the overhead line in the station areas of Roisdorf, Sechtem and Brühl will be completely renewed. In addition, the contact wire is replaced on a distance of about 37 kilometers. In addition, the renewal of eight point heating systems and the installation of four hot-runner detection systems (HOA) are planned. In addition, measures are planned at seven transport stations. These include measures on eight platforms, six platform roofs, eight lifts, three passenger underpasses and numerous travel information systems.
