Relocation services Outsourcing Ethnological Museum
The Ethnological Museum in Berlin-Dahlem preserves its non-European collections in its main depots on four floors of the so-called component 4 (BT 4), which are among the world's largest, oldest and most important. At BT 4, a roof and facade renovation, a fire protection upgrade, as well as a repair of the technical building equipment (heating, ventilation, electrics) are urgently needed. For this purpose, the depot areas must be completely cleared and the collections temporarily stored on interim areas for the duration of the renovation. The collection is relocated within the building complex. The building parts component 2A (BT 2A), component 2B (BT 2B) and component 3 (BT 3) are used as interim areas. For interim storage, the storage facility from BT 4 is reused as far as possible. After the refurbishment has been completed, the depots in BT 4 will be re-established and the collections will be returned to storage.
