Works management / demolition work
The planned new building of the primary school house Allmend pursues the goal of creating a sustainable and pedagogically functional infrastructure for primary school levels 1 to 6. The four-storey building is constructed in conventional timber construction on the school grounds and replaces the existing outdoor sports facility (‘Red Square’). The following preparatory work is required: - Dismantling tartan and asphalt pavement of the Red Square - Dismantling of the asphalt pavement of the existing rest area - Relocation of all existing lines in the construction area of the new school building - Creation of all works lines for the supply and disposal of the new school building The geological and hydrogeological conditions on the site are considered demanding. In particular, two separate aquifers shall be taken into account. The building site requires a pile foundation (concrete extrusion bored piles), also for factory lines and control shafts (wooden piles). With regard to flood protection, the new building meets the requirements HQ300- The building technology is placed on the ground floor and top floor (no basement) to avoid damage caused by flood events. The supporting structure of the building is based on a solid wood skeleton made of Fi/Ta. This is complemented by three massive service cores made of reinforced concrete. The spiral staircases between the service cores are also made of reinforced concrete. The facade consists of prefabricated wooden stand exterior elements. The building is certified according to SNBS 2.1 Building Construction (goal is Gold Certification). The energy is supplied via a connection to the local district heating network SeeEnergy (winter heat, summer cooling water). All surfaces are designed with underfloor heating. All floor coverings are made of ground industrial concrete and serve as a storage mass and light free cooling with regard to summer overheating hours. The control is carried out via room temperature sensors and is dependent on users. To generate electricity, a building-integrated photovoltaic system is installed on the roof as a water-carrying building envelope. Brise-soleil construction made of metal along the facades east and west serve as shadow cannons and form the structural weather protection of the facade. In the area of building technology, the installation of a mechanical ventilation system is planned only in the areas of the inner cores and the auditorium. The classrooms receive fresh air through manual natural window ventilation. The building can be used without any obstacles. For the planned school building with a total height of about 19 m in hybrid construction is considered a building of medium height. Fire protection planning is carried out in accordance with quality level QSS 2 of the BS-Guideline of the VKF. The environmental design is based on the design concept ‘Zentrum 1. + 2. stage’ and contributes to the development of a unified public space in the centre of Horw. The Schulhaus-Pausenplatz is designed as a traffic-free, publicly accessible space, with regard to extracurricular shared use. The schoolhouse garden serves exclusively for school use and is accordingly designed to be child-friendly and close to nature. In the sense of climate adaptation and biodiversity promotion.
