Description

Das in 1969 erbaute Freibad befindet sich in zentraler Lage in Oer-Erkenschwick unmittelbar am Stimbergpark. Nicht mehr dem aktuellen Stand entsprechend werden sowohl technische Einrichtungen als auch das äußere Erscheinungsbild grundlegend neu erstellt. Der Freibadbetrieb wurde 2019 aufgrund vieler Mängel komplett eingestellt. Die derzeitigen Bestandsbecken werden im Zuge der Baumaßnahme komplett abgebrochen. Am selben Standort der derzeitigen Becken sollen neue Becken und ein Technikkeller, sowie ein Spraypark entstehen. Am Beckenbereich werden eine Schwimmaufsicht, sowie generell ein neues Zugangsgebäude im südlichen Bereich in Massivbauweise errichtet, welche mit Fenstern und Türen versehen werden.
