The Liverpool City Region (‘LCR’) Combined Authority (‘LCRCA’) has recently structured a new Urban Development Fund (‘UDF’) with the aim of developing new premises for research and innovation activities, new and refurbished premises for SME occupancy and low carbon initiatives. This financial instrument has been designed to provide commercial finance for property and low carbon development where the market might not, as well as complement other sources of public sector finance in the City Region, to unlock significant private sector investment and deliver local growth.
