Description

The contract for this service is intended to cover the demand for the cases of Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis included in the SNS Service Portfolio (Order SSI/2065/2014, of 31 October, amending Annexes I, II and III to Royal Decree 1030/2006, of 15 September, establishing the portfolio of common services of the National Health System and the procedure for its updating), whose purpose is to prevent the transmission of serious diseases or disorders of chromosomal or genetic origin, of early onset and not susceptible to curative treatment according to current scientific knowledge, in order to carry out the embryo selection of pre-embryons not affected for transfer. In addition, the expansion of the portfolio of services that enters into force in 2023 allows the application of euploid embryo selection in patients at high risk of aneuploidy. Consequently, the Assisted Reproduction Unit of the University Clinical Hospital of Valladolid is in need of recourse to an external specialized laboratory to carry out this study because it does not have adequate human and material means.
