Description

Würzburger Straßenbahn GmbH (WSB) operates, in its own name, on its own account and at its own risk, on the basis of a public service contract under Article 3(1) of Regulation (EC) No 1370/2007 between the City of Würzburg and the WSB, within the municipal area of responsibility of the City of Würzburg, local public transport by tram and bus. In this overall context, the WSB is requested to implement the following line extension (overall measure): The existing metre-gauge tram network in Würzburg will be extended by the WSB with the planned construction of the new tram line ‘Neues Uniklinikum Würzburg’. As a result, the northern area and the planned expansion of the University Hospital Würzburg (Head Hospital, Women's Hospital, Center for Operative Subjects ZOOM, Center for Internal Medicine ZIM) (UKW) will be opened up by tram and connected to the city centre of Würzburg. For the implementation of the overall measure for the new tram line "Neues Uniklinikum Würzburg", various services must be provided for the ecological construction support. These include: - definition and labelling of the trees and shrubs to be protected during the construction work with protective measures prior to the start of the main construction work (05/2027); - control trees and shrubs before grubbing up; and - Ecological support during the entire construction period (approx. 5.5 years, start of construction 11/2026).
