Description

The city of St.Gallen purchases the entire internal network including WLAN and zone firewall as a service from an external partner. A total of over 200 sites and 5’600 workstations are connected to the two main data centres via this network infrastructure. In addition, more than 900 access points are in use in the numerous locations in urban areas. For the operation and further development of the already outsourced network at the city of St.Gallen, a new partner will be evaluated (contract period from 01.06.2027 to 31.05.2032). Due to the existing technological network infrastructures, in recognition of the investment protection of the hardware used and the complex individualization of the network architecture, this tender calls for the further use of the existing network hardware, which is still fully supported by the manufacturer. In addition, the existing operating and network concept must be adopted and further developed over the next five years. The new partner will continuously replace the hardware and software components that have arrived at the end of the life cycle during the contract period in accordance with the respective predefined life cycle.
