The reason for this tender is the expiry of the contract for management and maintenance (B&O) of the Gladheid Meld Systeem (GMS) on 15 April 2025. The GMS is obsolete and will eventually be completely replaced by a new system. The B&O contract must ensure the (functional) maintenance of the GMS, until it is replaced by the new Road Weather Information System (RWIS). The number of operational GMS monitoring stations to be maintained will therefore be reduced during the contract period.
