Description

The CAMPFIRE implementation project at the Rostock-Poppendorf site will bundle the conception and research for the implementation of the entire "Green Ammonia" transport chain for direct application in engines and fuel cells for stationary energy supply and maritime mobility as well as for the supply of hydrogen filling stations. The implementation project thus serves as an initial spark for the establishment of recycling chains that serve on an industrial scale in the field of the carbon-free hydrogen economy 2.0. In the CAMPFIRE Open Innovation Lab (COIL), test fields and infrastructures are designed and implemented, reactors and test facilities are developed, manufactured, adapted and optimized, technical support of development work is implemented and test operations are carried out. In the COIL on the premises of YARA GmbH and Co KG, containerized test facilities for motor combustion with ammonia are to be set up. For this purpose, the project CF12 - Container-based cracker gas engine CHP for remote off-grid requires the procurement of exhaust gas aftertreatment for the ammonia CHP. The aim is to develop and implement exhaust gas aftertreatment according to the specification for the coupling of a Jenbacher J412 engine provided by the customer for the operation of the engine with a fuel mixture of ammonia and hydrogen. The engine has a power range of up to 1 MWel and is to be operated along a defined load profile and in hybridization with an ammonia cracker.
