Future testing for The National Newborn Bloodspot Screening Laboratory (NNBSL) in Children's Health Ireland (CHI).
Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) is reviewing the scope of future testing for The National Newborn Bloodspot Screening Laboratory (NNBSL). The NNBSL in CHI is the only laboratory in the Republic of Ireland providing a newborn bloodspot screening service. The future testing being reviewed is for a combined molecular screening of two disorders: Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (SCID) and Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). The current expectation is that any proposal will need to cover the full equipment solution (analysers, reagents, consumables, auxiliary equipment) for SMA and SCID testing from sample receipt to result. The detailed scope will be issued with any potential formal procurement that may be initiated, but as a minimum will include the provision of testing for SMA and SCID. The aim of this notice is: 1. Notify the market of the intention of CHI to start a formal procurement process for the appointment of a testing provider for SMA and SCID; 2. Ensure any interested parties have enough time to prepare for and be ready for a procurement; and 3. Allow the Contracting Authority to receive feedback on market expertise on SMA and SCID testing. It is important to note that this notification is not a call for competition and as such you will need to express your interest in any future tender opportunity if a contract notice is published in OJEU. It should also be noted that this notification invites organisations to express an interest in this PIN only, and it is not a pre-qualification questionnaire or selection questionnaire, and is not part of any pre-qualification or selection process. This notice is intended as an awareness, communication, and information gathering exercise. This notice is no indication of a commitment to participate in any process nor does it infer any preferential or special status on those individuals and organisations who express an interest. Please note that any interested party is to simply register their expression of interest in this PIN by sending a message through this e-tendering system and your interest will be noted. The Contracting Authority will contact any interested parties following receipt of registration. To register your interest for this potential opportunity, please respond with the following information: • Name of the company • Name of key representative • Contact details of key representative if you wish for the Contracting Authority to contact you to discuss the details of the future SMA SCID testing at CHI
